The psychological, emotional and academic well-being of our students is one of our top priorities. An excellent team of 8 professionals in health and counseling services offer courses, lectures, meetings and direct services to the students, thereby providing a support network that helps them achieve success in and out of school. These professionals belong to national and state organizations, which keep them abreast of developments and practices in their fields. The team is under the direction of the Assistant Principal for Students Services, who also serves as the link between all members of the school community (administration, faculty, staff, parents and students).
As part of their commitment, the Student Services Department sponsors a yearly Prevention Week, an opportunity to focus on specific teenage challenges, such as bullying, alcohol and drugs.
Our students have the following resources available:
- A full-time nurse
- One Psychologist offering crisis intervention, assessment, and referral. (Long term therapy is not provided)
- Two Deans of Discipline
- Three licensed Guidance Counselors, each responsible for two grade levels
- A full-time College Counselor
